How to Use FOS TV LTV Player

My Live TV app will not open properly

There are usually four reasons that will cause this to occur. Your credentials are not correct, your device is not connected to the internet, your account is not in good standing or your device needs to be restarted.

The image below usually indicates your device credentials are not correct or your device needs to be restarted.



Below are images that usually indicate your device is not connected to the internet.





The image below means your account is not in good standing.



How to Troubleshoot:
Confirm your device is connected to the internet:
Make sure your device is successfully connected to the internet. Confirm this by opening an internet browser on your device and typing in www.fast.com. This will give you your current internet speeds. We recommend having at least 25 Mbps download speeds to use FOS TV’s streaming services.




Confirm your credentials are correct:
Visit www.fostvlive.com, login to your account and reenter your credentials exactly how they appear in your Subscription Detail page.




Reactivate your account:
Visit www.fostvlive.comand login to your account, review your current device totals, device types you want active on your account and select Continue to Checkout to reactivate your subscription and devices.

Restart Your Device:
Unplug your devices power source. Wait 10 seconds and plug it back in. Once your device reboots, perform a speed test to confirm your connected to the internet. Once confirmed, open your Live TV App, hit the refresh icon, wait until this command is completed and then see if your guide and / or channel content now appears.

Contact Tech Support:
If none of these steps solve your problem. Please contact our Tech Support team for further assistance visit www.fostvlive.com and click the We are Here or Leave a Message icon located on the lower right corner of your screen.

My guide does not load, or a channel is not appearing

Make sure your device is successfully connected to the internet. Confirm this by opening an internet browser on your device and typing in www.fast.com. This will give you your current internet speeds. We recommend having at least 25 Mbps download speeds to use FOS TV’s streaming services.




Make sure your FOS TV account is in good standing. You will know this by visiting www.fostvlive.com and login to your account. If the side bar menu option only gives you Start My Subscription or Logout. Then you need to review your current device totals, device types you want active on your account and select Continue to Checkout to reactivate your subscription and devices.



If it does not, then make sure you are entering your credentials correctly. This is found on your Subscription Detail page.



Step 1:
How to Refresh your guide and channel content.

On your Live TV’s Home Interface Page. Select the refresh icon per the image below.



You will then notice your screen change to the image below. Please wait until all steps complete. This will update your guide and all channel content. Now open Live TV our TV Guide and your guide and / or channel content will be fixed.



Important:
If you selected TV Guide as your option. It will always default on your Favorite Folder. You must use the Next button per the image below to change your Folder Content to provide the guide for the channel listings you’re looking for.





Step 2:
Unplug your devices power source. Wait 10 seconds and plug it back in. Once your device reboots, perform a speed test to confirm your connected to the internet. Once confirmed, open your Live TV App, hit the refresh icon, wait until this command is completed and then see if your guide and / or channel content now appears.

Step 3:
If none of these steps solve your problem. Please contact our Tech Support team for further assistance.

How to use TV / Sports Catch Up?

This feature allows you to watch previously recorded media content for the last 72 hours after it aired.
Step 1:
On your Live TV’s Home Interface Page. Select the Catchup icon per the image below.



Step 2:
Select the Content Folder of the Network Channel you want to watch. Example “US Networks”.

Step 3:
The upper left portion of your screen you will notice Month / Day. By selecting them it will populate what aired on that Network channel for the date selected. Select the content you want to watch and enjoy.



Attention:
Not all Network channels support Catch Up services. They will not appear as an option when using Catch Up if they are not available.

How do I add channels in my Favorite Folder?

Step 1:
On your Live TV’s Home Interface Page. Select the Live TV icon per the image below.

Important:
You cannot perform these steps of you are in TV Guide mode. You must be in Live TV mode.



Step 2:
Select the Content Folder of the Network Channel you want to watch. Example “US Networks”. Next select the Network Channel you want to add to your Favorites folder. Then press and hold “Ok” on your remote until you see a Yellow Star appear per the image below.



Step 3:
Open your Favorite Folder and the Network Channel will now appear. To remove this channel from your Favorites Folder. Simply select it, press and hold your “Ok” button on your remote until the Yellow Star disappears. The next time you open your Favorites Folder, it will no longer be there.

How do I use DVR services?

We are working on a more robust Cloud based DVR feature scheduled to be released sometime in 2020. Until then, we do offer a basic DVR feature to allow Android TV or Amazon Fire TV only users the ability to record your favorites, Movies, TV Shows, Sports and Events.

Important:
This feature is not available for Amazon Firestick Users. In order to use this feature, your Android TV or Amazon Fire TV device must have an external USB Hard Drive connected. Otherwise, the Internal Storage “RAM” on your device will not be able to support more than a couple recordings before maxing out your RAM and as a result, you may impact your devices overall performance.

Step 1:
On your Live TV’s Home Interface Page. Select the Recording icon per the image below.



Step 2:
Your device may automatically ask you for which location you want to save your recorded file. If so, select your External Hard Drive. If it does not automatically ask. Then click “Select Location” and select your External Hard Drive. Once selected, click on “Add” per the images below.





Step 3:
Select the Content Folder of the Network Channel you want to watch. Example “US Networks”. Next select the Network Channel you want to record.



Step 4:
Follow these steps in the order in which they appear.

Select Pick Datetime and press Schedule.
Please note: If you just want to start recording immediately without scheduling it for a specific day / time. Select Pick Datetime / Press OK / Enter in the length of minutes you want it to record for and press schedule.



Choose the Month, Date, Hour and Minutes of when the content you want to record will start and press Ok.



Enter how long you want the content you selected to record for in the Length of Minutes field.
Example: If your wanting to record a TV Show. You may want to choose 60 minutes to ensure you record the entire TV Show.



By successfully completing the steps above. You will now see what you scheduled to record in your My Schedules folder. Once it is done recording, the file will be relocated and placed in to your My Recordings folder. Then select what you want to watch and enjoy.



Sound and Video are not in sync?

Depending on your device and internet provider. You may have to change the media player.

Step 1:
On your Live TV’s Home Interface Page. Select the Settings icon per the image below.



Step 2:
Select Player and switch the Media Player from what it is currently on to the other Media Player option per the images below and select “Ok” to close this setting.





Step 3:
Press your “Back” button on your remote until the app asks you if you would like to exit and select “Yes”. Then reopen the app and see if this corrected your sound and video sync issue.



Step 4:

I cannot pause Live TV.

Step 1:
On your Live TV’s Home Interface Page. Select the Settings icon per the image below.



Step 2:
Select Other Settings and make sure Live TV Enabled Media Control is turned on. Then either hit your “Back” or “Right Trigger” button depending on the remote to exit this setting.





Step 3:
Press your “Back” button on your remote until the app asks you if you would like to exit and select “Yes”. Then reopen the app and see if this corrected your ability to pause Live TV.

How can I access Movies and Pre-Record TV Shows?

Step 1:
On your Live TV’s Home Interface Page. Select Movies to watch Movies and TV Shows to watch pre-recorded TV Shows.

Important:
If you have an older version FOS App on your device. Your Live TV’s Home Interface Page will have VOD and Series. Select VOD to watch Movies and Series to watch pre-recorded TV Shows.





How can I search for a Movie or TV Show?

Step 1:
On your Live TV’s Home Interface Page. Select Movie to search for a Movie and TV Shows to search for a watch pre-recorded TV Show.



Step 2:
In the upper righthand corner, you will see a Magnify Glass icon. Select this icon, enter the Movie or TV Show name you want to search for and press the Magnify Glass Icon again. If it is available, it will appear. If not, nothing will appear.





How can I add a Movie or TV Show to my Favorites Folder?

Once you have found a Movie or TV Show you want to add to your Favorites Folder. Select the Thumbnail and Press / Hold your “Ok” button on your remote until a yellow star appears. This will then add it to your Favorites Folder.

To remove from your Favorites Folder, repeat the same steps above until the Yellow Star disappears. Once you exit and reopen your Favorites Folder, it will no longer appear.

FOS Device Users

Connecting to Wi-Fi

On your home page of your FOS device select the Settings Gear Icon and select Networks. This is where you can connect your device to Wi-Fi. Press ESC or your Back button to return to your Home Page.

Adjusting my FOS screen to fit my TV

On your home page of your FOS device select the Settings Gear Icon / Display / HDMI / Zoom. This is where you can adjust your screen size. Get the red lines to fit on the outside parameters of your TV like the example below. Press ESC or your Back button to return to your Home Page.



Changing the date and time

Open Settings on your device and select Date and Time Icon / Select Time Zone / choose the time zone your located in. Press ESC or your Back button to return to your Home Page.

Resetting your FOS Device

You have 2 ways to complete this.

Option 1:

Unplug the AC Power Adaptor plugged in to your FOS device for 5 seconds and plug it back in.


Option 2:

On your home page of your FOS device select the Settings Gear Icon / About / Restart.



Apple Device Users

Step 1:
Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.



Step 2:
In the search field type in FOS TV player and tap the search button.



Attention:
If your device says Not Found be sure you typed in Fos tv player. If you did then tap “Filters” / select the device type you are using / tap “Back” / then tap the search button again.







Step 3:
Tap “GET” to start the download and install process for FOS TV Player.



Step 4:
Once installed tap “OPEN”



Step 5:
Accept the terms and use agreement.



Step 6:
Enter your FOS App credentials located in the your order confirmation email or by visiting www.fostvlive.com and login to your account.





Important:
Be sure to enter the following URL http://streamfostv.com:25461 on this login page. You will not be able to login otherwise.





Step 7:
Wait until the app installs all Live TV and Video On Demand content.



Step 8:
If you want Parental Control settings. Then enter your PIN and tap “Select”. If you do not wish to set this up. Then tap “SKIP”. You can always add later located in the settings of the app.



Step 9:
If you want to have a guide to tell you want is on a specific channel, then following these steps:

On your Live TV’s Home Interface Page. Tap “LIVE WITH EPG”

Tap “Yes, Please”

Wait until the app installs guide content.







Important:
You will need to tap “LIVE WITH EPG” everytime you use this app to ensure it is updated with the most recent guide content.

Step 10:
Tap the menu settings located in the upper right corner. Then tap “Refresh Channels and VOD”. Wait until this process is completed.





Important:
You will need to tap “Refresh Channels and VOD” everytime you use this app to ensure it updates all channels and VOD conent.

***This Is A Very Important Step***

Step 11:
Tap the Content Folder of the Network Channel you want to watch. Example “US Networks”. Tap the Network Channel to start the stream. Tap on the video to make it Full Screen and enjoy.



Tip:
To add anything to your Favorites folders. Press and hold on the content you want added until a Yellow Star appears. Repeat these same steps to remove it.

Amazon Device Users

Important Please Read Carefully
The instructions and / or images below may not look the same as your Firestick or Fire TV device. It may have a different firmware installed depending on how old your device is. This FAQ is used as a generic instruction guide to help most Amazon Device users install FOS APP.

Step 1:
Go to “Settings” on your device



Step 2:
Scroll to the left and select “Device”



Step 3:
Scroll down and select “Developer Options”.



Step 4:
Select “Apps from Unknown Sources” and turn this option “ON”.



Step 5:
A message box will appear select “TURN ON”.



Step 6:
If you already have an Internet Browser installed on your device. Skip this step and proceed to step 7.

Hit your back button on your remote until your back to your main interface page. Scroll left to your “Search” option on your device. type in “Downloader”, select it and install this app







Step 7:
Using Downloader or your Internet Browser. Enter the following URL http://fostvlive.com/livetv

This is a medium size app. Therefore, it can take up to a minute to download. If it doesn’t download, then hit cancel and try again.





Step 8:
Once FOS TV LTV Player is done downloading. Select INSTALL and once installed, select OPEN.





Step 9:
Enter your FOS App credentials located in the your order confirmation email or by visiting www.fostvlive.com and login to your account.





Step 10:
Important:

You must click “ALLOW” for the app to work. If you click DENY, the app will not complete the install.



Step 11:
Wait until the app installs all Live TV and Video On Demand content.



Step 12:
On your Live TV’s Home Interface Page. Select the Settings icon per the image below.



Step 13:
Select Other Settings and make sure “Live TV Enabled Media Control is turned on”. Then either hit your “Back” or “Right Trigger” button depending on the remote to exit this setting.





Step 14:
Press your “Back” button on your remote until the app asks you if you would like to exit and select “Yes”. Then reopen the app and your install is completed.



Step 15:
Go to Your Apps and Channels. Select “See All” and scroll right until you see FOS TV LTV. Then reopen the app and your install is complete.





Congratulations, you have successfully installed FOS App on your Amazon Fire device!

Scroll down until you see the white and black FOS TV LTV app and select it.

Then select install and open once installed

Android TV Device Users

Important Please Read Carefully
The instructions and / or images below may not look the same as your Android TV device. The two main reasons are it may have a different Android Operating system or different firmware installed. This FAQ is used as a generic instruction guide to help most Android TV users install the FOS App.

Step 1:
Open any browser that is installed on your Android TV device. This guide uses Google Chrome. We suggest using the same so the steps and images will be very similar if not the same. However, you can use any browser to install the FOS App.



Step 2:
In your browser URL enter http://fostvlive.com/livetv and select “Go” on your virtual keyboard or use your mouse pointer and select the URL per the image below.



Step 3:
Chrome may ask for the following permissions. You will need to give Chrome permission to all these notifications. If it does not ask, move to the next step.







Step 4:
Once the app is done downloading. Click “OPEN” per the images below.





Important:
If you miss the “OPEN” notification mentioned above, move to step 5.

If another notification appears asking for you to give Chrome permission to unknown sources, select “SETTINGS” and turn on the toggle button next to Chrome and hit “Back” on your remote.

Then proceed to step 5





Step 5:
Return to your Android TV Home Page and open your File Browser folder. This usually is a Folder icon in your apps folder.



Step 6:
Select Local Disk and Download Folder.





Step 7:
Select FOSTVLTVPlayer per the image below and press “Ok” on your remote.

Please note, the number sequence may be different than the image below. That is ok, this is the correct file to use.

If you have already installed previous version and are not sure which one to pick. Use the date and time stamp located on the file and pick the one that matches the time and date you downloaded the file.



Step 8:
Select INSTALL and once installed, select OPEN.





Step 9:
Enter your FOS App credentials located in the your order confirmation email or by visiting www.fostvlive.com and login to your account.





Step 10:
Important:

General FAQ

How can I request to have a Network Channel, Movie or TV Show added?

If you cannot find a Movie or TV Show in FOS TV’s Video On Demand Library. Please visit www.fostvlive.com / Login to your account / Select Request Movie / TV Show. Complete the required fields in the form and hit Submit. It will take up to 72 business hours for our Tech Support department to respond back informing you if they could successfully add what you requested.

Important:
Please do not ask for New Releases that have not been out in theater for at least 60 days. These requests will be ignored. In addition, older and more obscure content is also harder to obtain. These requests can be satisfied but the success rate is impacted vs. Movies and TV Shows after the late 90’s.

My Account

This section allows you to manage your FOS TV streaming services.

Subscription Detail Page

This is where you can review your account status and obtain the credentials you need to manage your FOS TV services.

Manage Devices

This section allows you to manage your FOS TV streaming services.

Add A Device

This section allows you to add additional devices to your FOS TV account. You are allowed up to 5 devices per account.

Update Credentials

By clicking the edit icon on your device image, you can reassign which device you want assigned to any given FOS TV VOD credential.

You are also able to unlock your devices so you can reenter on the device itself, the FOS TV VOD credentials you want assigned.

Remove A Device

This allows you to remove devices from your account and change your FOS TV monthly subscription amount. For example you have 3 devices which is $39.99 a month. You realized you only need 2 devices instead of 3. By updating your PayPal Subscription, you will now lower your monthly subscription rate to $34.99.

Change Device Password

This allows you to change your FOS TV VOD credential password. Your Live TV credentials are unique and cannot be changed.

Orders

This will display all FOS Orders you have made.

Address

This is where you can update your shipping and billing address.

Login / Billing Details

Here you can update your Credit Card or Debit Card on file and change your login password
